Sport Center
The Sport Center in Vopnafjordur is well stocked with equipment for a variety of fitness training. Individuals and groups may rent time in the gymnasium. In 2003 there were changes made to the observation area of the building and much equipment for physical training are there now.
Also available are a sauna, tanning beds, showers and facilities for guests to use, for a fee.
Vopnafjordur has for a long time boasted of its strong support of sports, especially soccer. During the summer, when home games are held, the changing rooms are closed temporarily for public use. Otherwise, the Sport Center is open to everyone at the times listed below.
